What are you doing this Saturday?

World Wide Knit in Public Day
11 June 2011

This Saturday is World Wide Knit in public day, and there are events taking place in several locations.

Dublin:

Powerscourt Centre Balcony from 12pm and then on to St Stephens Green South Bandstand from 2pm, weather depending. This is Knit will be having special offers on some yarns, and raffle prizes!

Winnie’s Craft Cafe will be getting in on the fun of world wide knit in public on Saturday June 11th from 1.30 - 3.30pm. Come along and knit or crochet with other knitters. Hopefully the weather will be nice so people can sit at the tables outside the shop. There will be some special surprises on the day!

Clondalkin knitters are meeting on the green area at Floraville, opposite Clondalkin library at 10am. If it's raining then they will meet in the library itself.

Roscommon:

Lough Key Forest Park  The meet up point is very close to the car park to make it easy to set up.  Meet on the grass around the ruined church. On the map this is the little black box with a cross symbol, to the right of the word “centre”. You can park in the car park, it costs about 3 or 4 euro.

Another meet-up is taking place in the grounds of Roscommon Castle at 12.30pm.

Cork:

From 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., local knitters and crocheters will gather at Bishop Lucey Park for some public displays of craftiness. This event is open to all, especially knit, crochet, and fiber craft enthusiasts.

Belfast:

Meet at 2pm in the Botanical Gardens,  outside the palm house if dry, inside at the museum cafe if raining for some knitty fun!

So there's no excuse not to get out and about with your latest project! Make sure to bring something to sit on!
